UnityRises: What is your "Why"?

How to find your "Why" and why it's important

Why?! Why?!Why does it matter?

What do you mean I need to find my why?!

These statements came up A LOT over the years "what is your why?" and "Just remember your why to keep you going!" I heard it in network marketing to homeschooling, I'm sure I even heard it in the military. People use it everywhere when they want to help empower us. I became very annoyed of hearing it. I totally understand why everyone uses it but hear me out!

I was sitting in a meeting when they were discussing this why nonsense. At first, I felt inspired some people had some amazing whys... "If I didn't push through, I was going to lose my house", " My why was to move out of my car!" " I had to so I can bring my family to the US." They all had these amazing stories! I cried and felt so motivated to find my why!

Only I couldn't. I just went blank. "What is my why?" I tried using one I heard "if I succeed my husband can be home more" that didn't feel right, I wanted him home more, but it wasn't a real motivator. We can have more time as a family! nope. I can travel all I want! I can be debt free!... I was using all these different "whys" but, they just didn't feel authentic, or you could say they weren't desperate enough. I thought that my why wasn't good enough.

I had this deep seeded belief that I had to hit rock bottom to have a strong "why". Everyone that was in the top percent in the places I heard these stories hit rock bottom. You even hear it from Tony Robins and others like movie stars. That was my blueprint; I don't have it bad enough and I just couldn't motivate myself. At the end of the day, I was content with a roof over my head and kept finding the silver lining. Then you go into feeling deserving which we will talk about later. Bottom line here is I was just too comfortable.

I was talking to my husband about this, and he said, "I am always happy in every situation." Then I realized, we have been taught that we must always be happy and not complain so we shove things down to pretend like we are happy go lucky. We tell ourselves things like: "Everything happens for a reason." and " I know after we succeed it will all be worth it!" Feelings get shoved down more and more. Yes, we can always stay positive in hard situations but, if there are times in your day that you feel any long periods of anger, sadness, or just in a funk then there is something that you are unhappy about, something that needs to change. We want to be real with ourselves and feel all the feels. We want to see things for how they are. We can check in with ourselves, are we really happy with how our lives are? Am I happy with my job I go to everyday? Am I happy with my house, my partner, my life? If there is a no anywhere, then there is room for change. That is where you find your why.

Now, you can see everyone has a strong enough Why. Are you willing to see them and feel them? Picture that thing that is upsetting you, visualize it and feel it. Do you feel how that is affecting your, body? the tension, the irritability? Now let it go. We don't have to hold on to that feeling we can just acknowledge it. Notice how this thing is not just affecting your mood it is affecting your body and those around you. Is this something you want to continue to have in your life?

Do you believe you deserve something greater? something more fulfilling? What is it that you want? Do you want better finances, healthier body or more traveling? Can you see yourself smiling in that new body, in that financial security? visualize it get clear with what you really want your life to look like. Are you ready to make that change and step into that thing you've always wanted to do?

Great! You have what's upsetting you and what you want figured out. Now you get to believe you can have it. Know that everyone is deserving of what they desire. We are the creators of our reality, and we came here to this planet to experience life! Let's experience all of the abundance life has to offer. I choose to experience abundance in finances, abundance in fulfilled relationships, abundance in health.

This is how you create your Why. You don't want to continue living in sadness and anger so let that be your why. You can see it, feel it and see what is possible for you on the other side and believe you deserve it. When you have a clear Why. You can move mountains. You can 10x everything and keep going until you reach your goals. Your why really is what keeps you going when you have times of doubt or fear. With your why clear it is harder to give up.
